On September 4th, President of India, Droupadi Murmu, inaugurated the newly reimagined Gandhi Darshan — a tribute space that celebrates the life and
philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. SPACESARCHITECTS@ka is proud to have led the landscape and design transformation of this iconic site.

Our vision for Gandhi Darshan centered around creating an immersive, contemplative environment that echoes Gandhi’s ideals of simplicity, peace, and
harmony with nature. The landscape design integrates native flora, intuitive pathways, and reflective zones, inviting visitors to engage deeply with
Gandhi’s legacy.

The Gandhi Darshan park, an extension of the Gandhi Smriti located near Rajghat, serves as a captivating reflection of Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy and
principles. The park further extends the opportunity for visitors to delve deeper into the life and teachings of the Father of the Nation. As visitors enter the
Gandhi Darshan park, they are greeted by a serene and peaceful atmosphere, designed to evoke a sense of introspection and contemplation. The park’s
layout is thoughtfully crafted, incorporating elements that showcase Gandhi Ji’s values of simplicity, non-violence, and harmony with nature. Lush greenery,
and carefully placed benches provide an ideal environment for visitors to relax, reflect, and connect with Gandhi Ji’s ideology. Upon entering the park, visitors
are guided along a humble walkway made of red sandstone, which takes them on a journey through various symbols and interactive statues. From the
Charkha on the right to the three monkeys, these representations serve as reminders of Ahimsa (non-violence) and the simplicity of life that Gandhi ji
preached. Walkway is kept to minimal, leading the visitor to the central focus of the park: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (translated to the World is the Family)
Wheel, the ultimate spot of serenity, peace and contemplation. The entire park is kept as a green area, providing an environment for people to explore at their
own pace. It caters to all age groups, featuring play areas and swings for children, open-air theatre for cultural programs, and tranquil seating areas for the
elderly. This park is designed keeping in mind the current and upcoming generation as they moves towards a future of technology and the virtual world, the
park strives to connect them to the philosophy of Gandhi Ji
