Spaces Architects@ka is an international award-winning architectural and design firm with a vision of curating spaces that are guided by the user and context enhanced by an intangible sense of emotion, power, and playfulness. This results in architecture that can be extraordinarily responsive to unique needs throughout the design process, which is just as much an architect’s mission as shaping an aesthetically inspired built environment through communication.
Our work is known for its design quality, imagination, and originality. Each project offers an opportunity to pursue new solutions to complex building problems. Our motto is to design, detail, and enjoy working in responsive to our clients’ needs in a very honest, efficient, and professional manner. We believe that our works follow a unique style based on our ideology and perspective toward the design requirements.
About Principal Architect
Mr. Kapil Aggarwal
Ar. Kapil Aggarwal earned his B.Arch. in 1996 from MIT in Manipal and worked in architectural firms for three years. He has always had a passion for the fine arts and sees his undertakings as extensions of his work. His projects represent who he is; every space is treated as a blank canvas to create art with a story. His strong belief that no two projects are similar leads his design process to be influenced by the project’s site, its context, people, their requirements, and vision: from everything tangible to all intangible aspects. He has also authored the book “Timeless Houses” with his experience and design philosophy, which became The Bestselling Coffee Table Book of the Year.
Twelve of his 50+ national and international awards come from the Institute of Interior Designers (IIID). 2nd position (Highly Commended) in the 2022 World Architecture Festival – Future Project, and his own studio was a finalist in the office category of the 2014 World Inside Festival. The studio was also featured by the Stylist Magazine as one of the “Coolest Offices in the World”.
Numerous awards have been given to the landmark project, Haveli Dharampura, including the Forbes Design Award (the only firm in Delhi) for Best Conservation and Restoration Project and the Asia Pacific Heritage Project of UNESCO. With publications in the New York Times and WOW magazine, amongst many other leading newspapers, the studio continues its exploration in various conservation works. With his work and every project, he continuously strives to give back to the local community and society.
Spaces Architects@ka was also the only Asian firm to get a US International Award in the Merit Category at Design Share 2008 for our project, Adharshila Vatika. The school project was again featured by BBC World among the Global Best School Buildings. Along with the NDTV Awards, the IIA Awards, and the Architecture Digest AD50, the 50 Most Influential Names in Architecture and Design for 2015, it has received various esteemed recognitions and numerous national and international publications. With such honors, Spaces Architects@ka continues to walk new paths in the field of architecture with a creative vision and a collaborative effort.
