Green Cascade

The residence is for 2 brothers living together with their family of three generations, who wanted to build a simple yet happening first abode for themselves. They wanted a very mature and minimal design for the house which would reflect their own characters and at the same time be playful enough to host parties and friends. The plot is located in a gated community which was facing the park in the front and its rear. The design concept was to extend the greenery into the house to be as much connected to the nature in the interiors as well.

As a person enters the gate, he sees a sunken courtyard which connects the basement to the road level and brings in the light and air to eliminate the feel of an underground floor. The house is interconnected in various levels right from its basement to the third floor through multiple double height spaces to allow humane visual connectivity and huge glass windows to maximize the air and light flow into the interiors. The first thing a person would see when he enters the house is a large cut-out which overlooks the drawing room in the basement. The elevation and the interiors are kept modern, contemporary and subtle with minimal color and material palette to create focus on the surrounding nature, light and air inflow in the house.

The ground floor level also hosts a guest bedroom, lobby & living cum dining area which can be extended into the rear landscape and the puja room with a natural green wall and a shaded sitting area. The first floor has a family lounge and 3 bedrooms which have large balcony spaces looking into the front and rear parks. The second floor has 2 bedrooms, a bar area and a green terrace which extends into the font elevation and overlooks into the first-floor balcony and driveway. The third floor has a lobby, a guest room and a large terrace which goes end to end of the building where parties can be hosted. The terrace also overlooks the basement landscape, ground floor landscape at the rear and the second-floor green terrace adding nature to every point a person can look at.
